my very first impression was “i don’t want to make donuts.”
then i thought “ok, i’ll make some brioche cut it into rings and garish for different flavors.” this was a shortcut that has worked in the past.
then i thought “no, i want to make some bad ass donuts. something that people remember…”
so in typical form i have made it unnecessarily hard on myself. modifying some of my favorite recipes so their flavor reflects my original favorites. a double chocolate cookie turned donut. red velvet cake goes O. and for the glazed…. started from scratch to make what my tasters think is one damn good glazed donut. throw in the high altitude element and, well yesterday alone i made six batches for just one flavor.
the final flavors – double chocolate, red velvet and sugar glazed. the line will grow but we will have just the three to start.

ok i know the red velvet is not red… i ran out of red color… too many test batches….
