maybe i am not the only chef that felt this way but when i worked in restaurants i would always get frustrated when guests asked for something that was not on the menu. as i grew up i realized that special requests were part of life. now that i work in hotels special requests are really part of life (sometimes i wonder why we write menus in the first place)! here are a few pics from some special cake requests we had recently. i miss the days when a special request consisted of blending two dishes from the menu together…..
